blisters for obama

As I mentioned yesterday, I've been hoofing it for Barack all weekend long.

Today I was at the office and on the streets from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. I knocked on God knows how many doors and walked God knows how many miles.

Unlike yesterday though, I had the chance to connect with many more voters today (more residential on my maps). Connecting with these folks made the schlepping so worth it. Every ache, pain and bunion is going to be earned. We were in highly Dem areas, but the most important thing (and the them of the weekend) is Get(ing) Out the Vote. So many of the younger people we talked to want to vote but haven't taken the time to figure out where or when.

I can't take off work on Election Day and that evening will be spending the night in Chicago hopefully hearing an Obama acceptance--hopefully. In order for that to happen, even when I'm not volunteering, I will be making sure everyone I talk to knows how to vote.

It doesn't matter who you're supporting. This election has made me appreciate more than any other what a privilege voting really is. And anyone eligible whose forefathers or mothers had to fight for the right to vote better get the f--k out there and do it this Tuesday (if they haven't already early voted).

It's been a damn long time since my generation got to witness a POSITIVE historic event, so please go VOTE by or on Tuesday, November 4, 2008.

PLEASE.

My future children will thank you.

Thank you for stopping by The Accidental Wisconsinite. Your feedback is welcome, but please be civilized. Remember, if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all!
